CNC Machinist

We are a worldwide leader in process measuring and control technology, looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and optimize CNC equipment to deliver precision parts on schedule. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and optimize CNC equipment to consistently deliver high volumes of precision parts on schedule. Work closely with production planners, quality assurance, and engineering teams to maximize uptime, reduce scrap, and achieve daily output targets without compromising quality. Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T callouts, and manufacturing instructions to perform accurate machining operations. Perform complete setup, operation, adjustment, and basic programming adjustments of CNC and manual machines for production runs. Consistently meet or exceed daily/shift production goals while maintaining quality standards. Perform initial dimensional inspections and in-process quality verifications using precision metrology instrumentation. Calculate target dimensions and compensation offsets through trigonometric functions. Identify machining issues, tooling wear, or equipment failures, and take immediate corrective action to minimize downtime. Accurately document production metrics, including output volumes, material scrap rates, equipment downtime, and KPIs within the ERP manufacturing systems. Collaborate with production leads, engineers, and maintenance personnel to resolve bottlenecks and optimize production flow. Monitor tooling life, recommend tool changes, and adjust feeds and speeds using HEM calculation formulas. Participate in shift handoffs and team huddles to ensure smooth communication across shifts. Support 5S, lean manufacturing initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. Crosstrain and assist in multiple work centers or machines as needed. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards. Work overtime as required. Requirements Technical trade school or machining apprenticeship certification preferred. 5+ years of hands-on machining experience in a high-volume production environment (medical, aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors preferred). Advanced knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain) and manual machining operations. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, SPC, and in-process inspection methods. Familiarity with production scheduling systems (ERP/MRP) and electronic data entry a plus. Ability to interpret complex work instructions and adjust processes to meet shifting production priorities. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and meeting daily/shift production goals. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and multiple shifts as production needs dictate.
