Technology Specialist (Part-Time)

Primary Location 2505 Kinship Pkwy, Celina, Texas, 75009 Job Summary Provide technical support, services and training to faculty, staff, students and outside organizations for software, hardware, peripherals and audio‑visual equipment. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support and services ensuring all classes, equipment and community events run efficiently. Assist students, faculty, staff and vendors with computer, Internet, wireless access and media issues. Troubleshoot hardware, software and audio‑visual problems. Facilitate conference center/campus events by setting up, running and tearing down audio‑visual equipment. Set up, install, image and maintain all associated equipment in assigned areas. Monitor emerging technologies, develop specifications and recommend acquisitions of new equipment. Integrate new technologies into existing classrooms, offices and conference centers. Maintain accurate records of software, hardware and equipment usage and problems. Ensure compliance with district policies and Technology Services SOPs to avoid copyright violations. Support faculty, staff and college‑owned student computers, including installation, imaging and troubleshooting. Document all tickets in the ticketing system and support requests through it. Remediate security threats reported by the Security Department. Document and maintain accurate inventory and Active Directory containers. Create and update knowledge base articles. Assist with networking and telecommunications upon request. Follow standards, rules, regulations and orders for electrical and mechanical equipment at all times. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of multiple types of audio‑visual equipment, including control systems, audio systems, audio/video conferencing, video streaming and recording, distance learning systems, projectors and media formats. Knowledge of institutional standard computer software and hardware. Knowledge of large‑event multimedia support. Knowledge of department and college policies and procedures. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Medium work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Positions typically involve talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required. Requirements Associate degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of related work experience. Five (5) years of directly related work experience may be substituted for the associate degree. Security‑sensitive position; candidates will be subject to a criminal background check. Compensation Hourly employment, part time, $26.50 per hour.
