Physical Therapist I Department: PCH-MAIN | Rehab Resource Pool Location: Phoenix Shift: Mon-Fri, Days, 8am-5pm Category: Rehab/Therapy Posting #: 1062466 Employee Type: PRN Position Summary This position provides physical therapy services to a pediatric population, from neonatal through adolescence/young adulthood. Performs evaluation, formulates plans of care, and provides treatment of patients using modalities including exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, mobilization, heat/cold, taping, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound, specific to age and developmental/functional level determined by assessment. This position addresses routine problems in the work environment by assisting with or referring complex cases to other, more experienced team members and/or leaders. This role manages a daily workload, identifies routine issues in the work area, and solves problems with guidance from other professionals, as needed. Position Duties Professional Physical Therapy Services Evaluates and treats patients with a wide range of diagnoses including but not limited to: neurological, sensorimotor, musculoskeletal disorders/delays, complex medical conditions, and trauma. Demonstrates knowledge of typical development and possesses skills necessary to provide age-appropriate services. Uses pediatric-based behavior management strategies and matches diagnostic/therapeutic interventions to age/ability of the child, using a framework of family-centered care. Establishes appropriate treatment plans with age-appropriate, functional, and measurable goals with target timeframes. Obtains mutual agreement upon discussion with family/guardian. Implements patient’s plan of care using treatment modalities including but not limited to exercise, neuromuscular re-education, mobilization, heat/cold, taping, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound as prescribed by a physician. This may include recommendations for dynamic medical equipment to maximize function. Performs patient/family teaching for maximizing function within the home/community and implementation of home program. Provides care as outlined in the Standards of Care section of the APTA and Phoenix Children's Policies & Procedures Manual. Maintains productivity standards for clinical level and appropriate and timely documentation in compliance with department policies, regulatory/accreditation standards, and state/federal guidelines. Builds and maintains rapport within the department, hospital, and community, while professionally interacting with physicians, families, and hospital/community personnel. This includes participation in in-service training programs. Supervises and directs assistive personnel including but not limited to physical therapist assistants, rehab technicians, and students. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
