Outside Sales Representative

We're supporting a growing leader in power distribution equipment, services, testing, and maintenance industry with an Outside Sales Representative opportunity. This position would be focused on an assigned territory where they would be responsible for sales efforts including cold calls, in-person sales meetings, quoting, responding to RFI/RFQ/RFPs, developing client relationships, sales growth within existing and future clients, etc. Looking for an experienced sales person with at least 2-3 years of previous power industry sales experience in one or more of the areas mentioned. Location Salt Lake City area Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm Travel Up to 50% Overview The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for selling electrical power distribution products, services, and solutions within an assigned territory. Success comes from consultative selling, technical credibility, strong relationship management, and tight coordination with inside sales, engineering, and product specialists to deliver solutions that match customer needs. What you will do: Territory growth and account management Maintain and grow a well-established territory through new business development and account expansion Develop and maintain long-term client relationships to drive renewals, repeat business, and customer satisfaction Target industrial facilities, utilities, data centers, power generation sites, and electrical contractors Consultative, technical sales execution Sell electrical testing, engineering design, manufacturing, emergency response services, and life extension solutions Promote low and medium voltage circuit breakers, switchgear, motor control, transformers, switching systems, and legacy power apparatus Present company designed products such as remote racking solutions, electrical test products, and vacuum interrupter replacement bottles Create and deliver technical presentations, demos, and consultations that clearly communicate value Project collaboration and technical alignment Partner with inside sales, product specialists, and engineering to plan and execute complex upgrade projects Translate customer requirements into proposed solutions and manage technical aspects of the sales process Support RFP and RFI responses and help coordinate proposal development Communicate client needs to engineering and production teams to ensure delivery and satisfaction Sales cycle ownership Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through purchase order and post-sale support Assist with resolving account issues including collections on overdue invoices while protecting relationships Track activities and opportunities using CRM tools and maintain accurate pipeline and territory planning What success looks like Consistent achievement of territory revenue and growth targets Strong customer retention with high renewal and repeat purchase rates Clear, compelling presentations that move complex opportunities forward Accurate scoping and solution alignment that reduces rework and increases customer confidence Strong internal coordination that delivers projects smoothly and protects customer trust What we are looking for: Experience and education 2 to 5 years of experience in electrical equipment sales High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2-year degree preferred Experience selling to industrial, utility, data center, and power generation sectors Background selling technical electrical products and services including circuit breakers, switchgear, and electrical distribution systems Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets Experience managing complex sales cycles and territory development History of developing and maintaining client relationships and account management Experience collaborating with engineering and technical teams Background responding to RFPs and RFIs for technical products Experience with technical product demonstrations Experience using customer relationship management systems in a results driven environment Required skills Proven success as a Sales Representative with strong electrical background Proven track record selling complex enterprise solutions Ability to build strong relationships with senior decision makers Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, customer friendly way Strong technical understanding of electrical distribution systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong presentation skills with creativity and confidence Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems and sales tools Strong negotiation and closing skills Territory management and strategic planning abilities Strong problem-solving skills for customer technical challenges Strong time management, organization, and self-motivation Ability to work independently and travel up to 50% #J-18808-Ljbffr Compass Resourcing Group, LLC
