We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial operations within a growing structural steel fabrication company serving commercial construction projects throughout the Midwest. As a Senior Accountant, you'll work closely with leadership, support project-related accounting activities, and play a key role in maintaining the financial health of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Analyze financial results and maintain accounting accuracy
• Support payroll-related accounting activities

Project & Construction Accounting

• Review project cost reports and billing activity
• Support change order tracking and project financial reporting
• Assist with construction-related accounting documentation
• Provide support for AIA billing and project accounting processes

Accounts Payable & Operational Support

• Enter vendor invoices into the ERP system
• Assist with Accounts Payable processing and vendor communications
• Support day-to-day accounting operations as needed
• Work closely with multiple departments to ensure accurate financial reporting

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant

Required

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong General Ledger and reconciliation experience
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
• Experience supporting month-end close
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred

• Manufacturing, steel fabrication, or construction industry experience
• Experience with AIA billing and change orders
• Familiarity with project accounting and job costing
• ERP system experience
