Maintenance Mechanic Lead - 2nd Shift | Food Manufacturing

Join a growing food manufacturing company as a Maintenance Mechanic Lead on 2nd Shift! We're looking for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, food manufacturing experience, and the ability to lead and support a team. What You'll Do

• Lead and support Maintenance Technicians on 2nd shift.
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
• Work with high-speed packaging equipment and power transmission systems.
• Assist with PLC troubleshooting, equipment upgrades, and new installations.
• Complete work orders and maintenance documentation using a CMMS/iPad.
• Support food safety, GMP, HACCP, and plant safety initiatives.
• Minimize downtime through effective root cause analysis and durable repairs.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Food manufacturing experience required.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and high-speed packaging equipment.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills; PLC experience preferred.
• Technical degree, maintenance certifications, or equivalent experience.
• Leadership or team coordination experience.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.

Schedule

2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 1:00 PM-11:30 PM
Overtime available on Fridays and Saturdays.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $39.00/hr.
