We are a growing commercial roofing company serving Nashville and Middle Tennessee, and we are looking for an experienced, motivated Commercial Roofing Sales Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. 

This is not a desk job and it is not a traditional estimating-only position. We are looking for someone who can create their own opportunities, build relationships, identify roofing needs, estimate the work, sell the project, and manage it through completion.

The ideal candidate is a hunter — someone who enjoys getting out in the market, meeting property owners, facility managers, general contractors, building owners, and other decision-makers, and turning those relationships into profitable roofing projects.

What You'll Do

• Develop your own commercial roofing opportunities throughout Middle Tennessee
• Network and build long-term relationships with property owners, facility managers, general contractors, building managers, and other potential customers
• Prospect for new business and generate leads rather than relying solely on company-provided leads
• Inspect commercial roofs and identify repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement opportunities
• Perform your own roof takeoffs, measurements, roof cores, and field investigations
• Create accurate roof drawings and scopes of work
• Read and interpret architectural, engineering, and roofing plans and specifications
• Review bid documents, drawings, specifications, addenda, and contract requirements
• Identify scope requirements, exclusions, alternates, and potential risks
• Perform accurate takeoffs from plans as well as field measurements
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and discussions and identify questions/RFIs
• Prepare estimates, proposals, and bids to maintain established gross profit margins
• Present proposals to customers and confidently sell the work
• Take a lead from the initial conversation all the way through a signed contract
• Maintain communication with customers throughout the project
• Identify additional opportunities with existing customers and continue developing those relationships
• Maintain a strong pipeline of current and future opportunities

What We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you are the type of person who: Sees a building and thinks, "I wonder when they last replaced that roof." You enjoy meeting people, opening doors, making connections, and finding opportunities. You can walk a roof, understand what you're looking at, put together a professional estimate, explain the solution to the customer, and close the deal.

Most importantly, you own the entire process. You don't need someone handing you a stack of leads. You know how to go find the work.

5+ years experience of Commercial roofing estimating 

2+ years experience of The EDGE Estimating Software program 

Proven ability to sell commercial roofing projects

Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, repair, restoration, and replacement

Ability to independently perform roof takeoffs (including setting up a ladder, roof cores, and documenting existing roof conditions)

Ability to work safely at heights, lift heavy objects, and in varying weather conditions

Ability to create roof drawings and interpret roof plans

Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

Self-motivated and comfortable working independently

Ability to build trust and maintain long-term customer relationships

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required with willingness to travel throughout Middle Tennessee
