Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Multi-Modality)

Role: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Multi-Modality) independently operates advanced imaging equipment, including PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and PET/MR, performing diagnostic nuclear medicine, CT, and MRI fusion procedures. Responsibilities Perform complex imaging procedures, including fusion imaging and injection of contrast agents, while recognizing allergic reactions and contraindications. Ensure safety by verifying and maintaining equipment calibration, conducting quality control, and following radiation safety protocols aligned with ALARA principles. Troubleshoot and repair PET/CT and PET/MR systems, optimizing image quality and protocol adjustments based on patient needs. Collaborate with physicians and staff to enhance patient care and educate referring providers on study appropriateness and preparation. Manage radioactive materials in compliance with NRC/NHPP and DOT regulations, including receipt, storage, and disposal. Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout procedures, providing emergency response when necessary. Maintain detailed records of radiation exposure, perform routine surveys, and assist in establishing safety protocols. Qualifications & Skills Proficiency in venipuncture and ancillary equipment use. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and troubleshoot imaging systems. High computer literacy and understanding of multi-modality imaging parameters. Knowledge of radiographic techniques, quality control, and protocol development. Experience with radiation safety, dose calculations, and regulatory compliance.
