Jr Staff Accountant

The Jr Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the company’s close process and financial reporting. This position collaborates across the organization and ensures compliance with professional standards, GAAP reporting guidelines, and FDIC regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supports the accounting for the Bank’s various loan portfolios and BaaS segment. Review entries by loan operations team and loan servicers to reconcile servicer reports to the general ledger. Prepare and or review loan related journal entries as part of the month end close. Creation of journal entries for BaaS segment Review and reconcile loan remittance and disbursement accounts. Maintains, analyzes and reconciles deferred loan origination fees and costs. Analyzes loan general ledger accounts to identify and correct errors. Assists in variances regarding BaaS segment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Ability to think strategically, analyze problems and contribute to changes to policies and procedures while complying with U.S. GAAP and other disclosure regulations. Advance Excel skills, including macros, pivot tables, familiar with most if not all functions in Excel. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Keen attention to detail and ability to stay focused on the task regardless of the environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Initiative: Self-starter, someone who thrives on delivering results. Must be able to work independently while remaining a team player. Willingness to “roll-up your sleeves” and take on all tasks, from the menial to the exciting. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree or equivalent experience.
