This course examines how Native American culture and music have influenced mainstream U.S. popular music and the global Rock & Roll tradition, addressing themes of race, gender, social equity, and the historical suppression and celebration of Indian music. Responsibilities Teach the full course syllabus, develop lesson plans, facilitate class discussions, and evaluate student performance in accordance with university standards. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree or equivalent in American Indian Studies or a related discipline Compliance with the California State University Out‑of‑State Employment Policy (employment must be performed within California) Preferred Qualifications Higher education teaching experience Demonstrated intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community in teaching and service Salary Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full‑time month.
