Job Title New Grad RN Operating Room Job Overview Full time 40-hours day/evening/night Rotation including weekends, holidays and on-call required. The ideal candidate will have a BSN and experience in the Operating room as a Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Assistant or completion of a Sr. Practicum in an Operating room. About the MGH Main OR Mass General Hospital's Operating Room department, it is comprised of an outstanding team of OR nurses, Surgical Technologists, Equipment Techs, OR Assistants, and OR Coordinators providing care for patients undergoing complex surgical procedures. Must be licensed as an RN in Massachusetts prior to the start of the Program in August. Our patient population spans the range from neonates to seniors, with 16 services and 61 operating rooms including an intraoperative MRI surgical suite, Intraoperative CT scan Suite, robotic technology and much, much more. Staff are engaged in precepting new staff (both experienced and new to the environment) and students from various education programs. Staff also participate in staff development projects, shared governance committees, and process improvements projects on the unit. Essential Functions Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established protocols. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and assist in treatments and procedures. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. Educate patients and families on health management and post-care instructions. Uphold infection control measures to ensure a safe clinical environment. Respond efficiently and effectively to emergent situations, demonstrating sound judgment and critical thinking skills. Education Associate's Degree Nursing required and Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred. Experience No experience in lieu of a degree accepted. Hospital or managed care experience 0-1 year preferred. Licenses and Credentials Registered Nurse [RN - State License] required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
