Overview Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, Williamsburg, Virginia. Registered Nurse, Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit, Full Time, Night Shift (Third Shift). Hours: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with rotating weekend schedule. Sign on Bonus up to $20,000 available for qualified candidates! Unit Description The Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit (3 South) at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post‑coronary interventions, post‑ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre‑and post‑catheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke. Transition to Practice Programs No separate application required; automatic enrollment for any RN with less than 12 months of experience or transitioning to a new practice area. General Nursing Orientation Specialty Clinical Track Residency Professional Development Sessions Mentoring and Unit‑based Preceptor Responsibilities The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for providing a competent level of nursing care as defined by the nursing process and standards of practice, which include assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The RN must also demonstrate professional performance standards such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet the required standards as specified within the Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit.
