Executive Director, State Government Affairs

Stoke Therapeutics seeks an Executive Director to lead state-level government affairs strategy across priority U.S. states. The role focuses on advancing policy environments for rare genetic diseases, RNA medicine access, and potential zorevunersen approval, while serving as a senior strategic partner across internal functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive state government affairs strategy aligned with patient advocacy and commercial objectives
• Monitor and influence state legislative, regulatory, and political developments affecting rare disease and Medicaid policy
• Advance policy readiness for zorevunersen access including coverage pathways and benefit considerations
• Expand genetic screening and testing access by promoting supportive state policies
• Build relationships with governors, legislators, patient organizations, and key stakeholders

Requirements

• Extensive experience in state government affairs, legislative advocacy, or healthcare policy
• Deep knowledge of state Medicaid, insurance coverage, and rare disease policy
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with elected officials and stakeholders
• Strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Understanding of pharmaceutical market access, regulatory pathways, and product commercialization
