AAA Cooper Transportation is immediately hiring a reliable and experienced Lead Mechanic to join the team at our Kansas City, KS Service Center. As a fleet mechanic, Diesel technician, you will help the terminal ensure that equipment is well-kept to allow the movement of freight throughout our network. RESPONSIBILITIES - A Day in the life

• Ensure the regular servicing and maintenance of all company trucks and equipment.

• In conjunction with the Shop Supervisor, maintain a service and maintenance record of all company vehicles.

• Partner with the Shop Supervisor to assign tasks to all shop employees.

• Train employees in duties and ensure timely and correct completion of work required.

• Ensure compliance with all safety norms and industry regulations for all work processes.

• Ensure the appropriate training, use and handling of testing tools and repair equipment.

• Test drive vehicles to ensure they are functioning appropriately.

• Act as a liaison between Shop personnel and the Shop Supervisor regarding department work, issues, personnel situations, etc.

• Properly complete work orders and related paper work, perform data entry on computer.

• Communicate effectively with both drivers and Managers to gather information needed to complete repairs and maintenance.

• Maintain clean & safe work area

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS - What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 18 years or older

• Previous experience in truck and trailer repair

• Working knowledge of most systems of a truck tractor, trailer, and dolly

• Pass pre-employment drug screen, background check
