LPN Position at Sentara Norfolk General HospitalLocation: Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VAWork Shift: Second (Evenings)Overview: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an LPN for the Emergency Department (ED) - Level 1 Trauma Center.Status: Full-Time, 36 hours per weekShift: Three 12-hour shiftsHours: 1:00 pm - 1:00 amWeekends: Every other WeekendHoliday RotationSign-On Bonus available for qualified candidates and relocation assistance available!The Norfolk General Hospital's Emergency Department is a 53-bed unit. Our Trauma One Facility is equipped to handle a variety of medical emergencies, and approximately 10% are trauma related.Education Requirements:Degree or diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing requiredCertification/Licensure Requirements:LPN license requiredExperience Requirements:Emergency Department experience preferredSentara Norfolk General Emergency Department is one of only 94 in the United States to receive the Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses' Association this year. It is a 525-bed medical center, serves as a primary teaching facility, and home to the area's only Level 1 Trauma Center within a 126-mile region.Our Norfolk General facility has four intensive care units and two intensive care units in our 112-bed Nationally Ranked Heart Hospital that sits on our campus.The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in the clinical setting, within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to handle physically demanding tasks.
