Sr. Field Service Technician The Sr. Field Service Technician is accountable for system installation, commissioning, and customer support. The technician reviews and resolves warranty claims and assists customers with non‑warranty issues. The technician also supports services and maintenance of existing systems. Responsibilities Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair and analyze Eos commercial BESS as well as third‑party products sold by Eos in the field, remotely via email, telephone and remote support tools (e.g., AR remote support tools), and onsite. Utilize company‑provided Field Service and Work Order Management tools to retrieve and update information timely and accurately. Write reports, train customers, and respond to customers’ concerns regarding the functionality and performance of their system. Develop detailed knowledge of Eos’ commercial products and third‑party products sold by Eos. Perform acceptance and performance testing, troubleshooting, installation, startups, shutdowns, commissioning, and turnarounds of BESS. Work regularly with high‑voltage DC electricity, three‑phase power, and the relevant software of the BESS and third‑party products. Stand in as site lead when needed and provide leadership and guidance to FSTs and third‑party contractors. Provide detailed reporting for Engineers and Managers, such as daily site activities, equipment status, troubleshooting efforts, and performance output. Ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision while collaborating with Field Service Engineers. Ability to communicate challenges in a forthright and accurate manner. Solid computer skills: Windows, Office, programming (PLC, controls experience a plus). Awareness of electrical, crane, forklift, and construction work safety. Understanding of DC electrical systems and controls. Knowledge of using electrical voltage meters and electrical testing equipment. Exceptional communication skills: ability to lead by example and through influence. Ability to travel domestically and internationally and work at field installations up to 100% of working time for up to three weeks at a time. Ability to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50 pounds frequently. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of three (3) years of field experience in electrical, electronics, power electronics and/or network communications is recommended. Trade or vocational college focusing on electrical work, renewable energy, or electronics preferred. Prior experience in the renewable industry, preferable energy storage, is strongly preferred. Experience in applied problem‑solving methodology. Electrical safety training, NFPA 70E or similar. Medium voltage / substation experience is a plus. Travel 100% travel – local travel, overnight travel in North America, or international travel as required. Working Conditions The worker may be subject to hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, vibration, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to temperature changes, or exposure to chemicals. Fumes, airborne particles, odors, dust, mists, and gases may be present. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee is required to have close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembling or fabricating parts at distances close to the eye. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment, including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and lab coats. The employee may be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
