Procurement Category Manager, Professional Services and Consulting

AbbVie seeks a Procurement Category Manager to lead enterprise category strategies for Professional Services and Consulting across global business functions. The role manages sourcing, supplier portfolios, spend visibility, and performance for a diverse portfolio exceeding $250 million in annual expenditures.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain multi-year category strategies for $250M+ annual professional services and consulting expenditures
Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives from requirements through proposal evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and benefits tracking
Establish buying channels and engagement models; guide stakeholders on appropriate solution selection
Plan and execute complex negotiations covering rates, fees, terms, service levels, and commercial protections
Build supplier segmentation and governance models; conduct business reviews and monitor performance scorecards

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
Minimum 6 years in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or supplier management
Demonstrated experience developing category strategies for professional services or consulting
Strong knowledge of services commercial models and pricing structures
Experience negotiating master service agreements and statements of work with Legal teams
Working knowledge of external service risks and compliance requirements
Advanced degree or procurement certification preferred
