Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week

Highlights:

• 31-bed progressive care unit specializing in medical-surgical patients with medicine teaching services
• Must be proficient in CPAP/BiPAP management, medication titrations including cardiac drips, and charge nurse responsibilities
• Required skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, high flow nasal cannula, chest tube care, tracheostomy management, and wound care
• 24 hours of orientation provided with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Float requirements within organizational units to provide flexible patient care coverage
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience and skill set

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or stepdown nursing experience
• Prior charge nurse experience strongly preferred
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Must be comfortable managing critically ill patients requiring non-invasive airway management and cardiac medication titrations
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• 2 professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
