Payroll Specialist

Payroll Analyst We are a stable, growing Southern California company seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to manage full-cycle payroll for our hourly employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. This role collaborates with operations and accounting to review time records, allocate labor costs, and support payroll-related reporting. Compensation $28–$34 per hour, with potential for a performance‑based review after six months and a strong benefits package, including approximately 80% employer‑paid medical coverage, paid time off, and paid sick leave. Responsibilities Process weekly payroll accurately and on time. Review and audit employee time records for completeness and accuracy. Enter and maintain payroll data within the payroll system. Verify labor allocations, cost codes, and project tracking information. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable payroll regulations. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies. Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation. Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and special projects. Partner with accounting and operations teams on payroll‑related matters. Support process improvement initiatives within payroll functions. Qualifications 5+ years of payroll processing experience. Experience managing payroll from start to finish in-house. Strong understanding of labor tracking, job costing, or cost code allocation. Experience reviewing manual timecards or timekeeping records. Knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software systems. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Benefits Competitive hourly wages.
