We are improving shopping on Amazon using conversational LLMs and customer data to personalize experiences. We seek pioneers passionate about technology, innovation, and customer experience. The role leads a team working on LLM and/or VLM post‑training and alignment for new shopping experiences. The manager collaborates with scientists, engineers, and TPMs to innovate for our customers. Responsibilities Lead a cross‑functional team of scientists and machine learning engineers focused on post‑training and alignment of LLM and VLM systems. Shape product vision and strategy for conversational shopping experiences, ensuring alignment with customer needs. Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technical program managers to deliver customer‑focused solutions. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of managing scientists or machine learning engineers. Proficiency in ML, NLP, information retrieval, and analytics. PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics, or an equivalent quantitative field. Preferred Qualifications Experience building machine learning models or algorithms for business applications. Experience delivering large‑scale deep learning or computer‑vision systems to customers. 2+ years of managing scientists or machine learning engineers. Deep expertise with LLMs, visual language models, and embedding modalities; published work or artifacts in these domains.
