Sr Lead Software Engineer - Python

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in Python
• Experience with Python design and coding, Flask, Django, or comparable frameworks, APIs, microservices, testing, data handling, and production troubleshooting
• Experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for tasks such as coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting, and setting expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant practices and controls
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization such as Docker and Kubernetes/ECS/EKS, and Infrastructure as Code
• Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
• Practical cloud-native experience

• Provide technical guidance and direction to support the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
• Promote and govern approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish measurable validation standards and encourage reuse of proven patterns and automation in the SDLC/TLM toolchain
• Apply Software Development Life Cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation at scale
• Drive decisions affecting product design, application functionality, technical operations, and processes
• Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas
• Contribute to the engineering community by advocating for firmwide Software Development Life Cycle frameworks, tools, and practices
