About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 18 months MedSurg RN experience License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General post-surgical skillset, including incision care, assessment, drains, chest tubes, wound care, mobility, education, trach care, NG tube insertion, and the use of braces/traction. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele. The unit consists of 28 beds with a focus on post-surgical care. The patient population includes those recovering from orthopedic, spine, trauma, and vascular surgeries. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:4-6, with potential surge times of 1:7-8. Support staff includes CNAs, charge nurses, and a rapid response team available 24/7. Travel nurses may be required to float to other nursing units based on patient care needs. All travelers must demonstrate adaptability while floating to various units. Weekend rotations will be every other weekend, with travelers expected to work 75% of holidays. RTO requests can include up to 6 days off, excluding holidays. The work environment is described as positive and supportive. Travelers are expected to participate in the recertification process for Advanced Certification in Spine Surgery. Training and mentorship will be provided throughout the duration of the contract.
