In this role, you will help motor carriers navigate permits and weight-mile tax requirements in a call-center environment. A day in the life:

• Provide customer service by explaining and applying motor carrier laws, rules and procedures.
• Issue motor carrier permits and temporary passes, ensuring compliance and eligibility.
• Review carrier information and determine required credentials for lawful operation.
• Assist customers with account set up, online portal access and fee payment.
• Accurately respond to questions regarding commercial vehicle tax services.
• Work is performed in a fast-paced, high volume call center and requires sitting or standing for long periods of time with heavy computer and phone use.
• 6 month rotating schedule is required to ensure adequate coverage during the Monday - Friday 6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. (PT) hours of operation.

Minimum qualifications:

Two years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in-person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying laws, rules, regulations/procedures.

AND
Experience using computers to retrieve and input data.

Completion of an associate's degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.

• Experience with clearly explaining complex rules over the phone to a diverse audience.

• Ability to reconcile daily financial transactions without error.
