Nurse Practitioner, Outpatient Human Genetics

Overview As a Nurse Practitioner with the Rare Disease Lysosomal Storage Disease team, you will play a critical role in the longitudinal care of medically complex patients with lysosomal storage diseases. This position focuses on providing comprehensive follow‑up care to patients across the lifespan from newborn to geriatric patients. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to optimizing developmental outcomes, growth, and family support. Division Human Genetics Role Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments with a focus on growth and developmental progress and symptoms related to the disease process Coordinate care, including follow‑up on labs, diagnostics, referral, and specialist recommendations Manage in‑basket responsibilities (patient messages, medication refills, care coordination) Assist with clinical trial for investigational medications for lysosomal storage diseases (conduct periodic assessments, be available for study team questions and concerns) Infusion coverage: manage enzyme replacement infusion therapy plans, clarify and adjust orders as needed, respond to infusion reactions/concerns in outpatient infusion center, inpatient, home care and outside infusion, troubleshoot vascular access issues/concerns Qualifications Certification: FNP or PNP Specialty experience preferred: Genetics, Pediatrics, Infusions, Ambulatory Master’s degree in nursing and current license to practice nursing in Ohio Certification as an advanced practice nurse (e.g., PNP or FNP) and certificate to prescribe as applicable Schedule Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. No holidays or weekends Job Qualifications Master’s degree in related field (Nursing or allied health) No directly related experience required for new graduates Licensure and certification in accordance with institutional privileges Multi‑state licensure may be required based on subspecialty Primary Location Burnet Campus Compensation Annualized pay may vary based on FTE status: $104,000.00 – $130,686.40 Employment Information Employee status: Regular FTE: 1.0 Weekly hours: 40 Cincinnati Children’s is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to creating an environment of dignity and respect for all employees, patients, and families.
