Customer Service Rep, Mortgage Origination

We are seeking full-time Mortgage Origination Professionals for the FHA Resource Center in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will support the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and its mission. As a Mortgage Origination Customer Service Representative, you will use your mortgage background to assist customers, expand your knowledge of Federal Housing Administration (FHA) mortgage policies, and make a difference in the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by answering calls and emails from the lending industry and the public on FHA guidelines and procedures.
• Utilize knowledge of the mortgage industry to locate answers in a knowledge database to address client requests.
• Follow standard operating procedures for various topics, systems, and contact channels.
• Document all contacts in a database.
• Maintain current knowledge of FHA mortgage processes and procedures.
• Work an 8-hour shift between 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM ET, based on business needs at the time of hire.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• 2+ years of mortgage origination experience (e.g., loan originator, loan processor, junior underwriter, loan officer, etc.).
• 1+ years of contact center or telephone customer service experience.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and applications and utilize search tools.
• Strong time management skills and dependability.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
• Keyboarding proficiency of at least 40 words per minute.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of or background in FHA guidelines preferred
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) a plus
• Experience in an omnichannel contact center environment desired

Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Public Trust clearance as a condition and continuation of employment.
