Locums Emergency Medicine Physician OpportunityWe are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage at a community-based emergency department in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a physician-led emergency department with solo coverage, a manageable patient volume, and the support of a nearby full-service hospital.Position Highlights24-hour physician coverageSolo physician coverageNo Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverageFacility Details12-bed Emergency DepartmentAverage daily census of approximately 30 patientsOn-site CT, X-ray, and laboratory servicesAffiliated with HCA Florida Twin Cities HospitalAccess to specialist consultation through the main hospital, including:CardiologyGeneral SurgeryOrthopedic SurgeryNephrologyUltrasound capabilities available through transfer protocolsEMR: MeditechResponsibilitiesEvaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of emergency medical conditions.Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and determine appropriate disposition.Perform emergency procedures within the scope of Emergency Medicine practice.Manage patients independently during assigned shifts.Coordinate transfers and specialty consultations when appropriate.Collaborate with nursing staff and ancillary departments to deliver high-quality patient care.Complete accurate and timely documentation using Meditech.QualificationsMD or DOBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, orBoard Certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with current Emergency Medicine experienceActive Florida medical license (or ability to obtain)Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications preferredDEA registration
