A pharmacy role is available for a dedicated pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care within a long-term care (LTC) and mail order environment. This position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for permanent placement after a 26-week assignment.

Location: Greensburg, PA
Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, rotating day shifts (8:00 am–4:30 pm; 9:00 am–5:30 pm)
• Every other weekend from 9:00 am–5:30 pm

Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept, review, and dispense prescription medications adhering to legal and safety standards.
• Monitor patient medication compliance, identify patterns of over-usage, and ensure proper prescription suitability.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide detailed consultations to patients on medication usage, potential reactions, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Deliver additional health services, including smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper use and maintenance of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications both sterile and non-sterile in accordance with established procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
• Manage inventory for pharmaceutical and medical supplies efficiently.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues and optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania pharmacy license required.
• Experience in long-term care or mail order pharmacy settings preferred.
• Sterile compounding experience is a strong plus.
