This opportunity is for a Pharmacist position on the 2nd shift, working primarily in a long-term care (LTC) and mail order pharmacy environment. The shift hours are either 3 PM to 11 PM or 2 PM to 10 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and availability required seven days a week. The assignment is 26 weeks with the potential to transition to a direct hire role.

Responsibilities include accepting and dispensing prescription medications, monitoring patient medication compliance, and ensuring supplies meet legal requirements. You will verify that prescribed medications are appropriate and maintain accurate, confidential patient records. Providing patient consultations regarding medication usage, side effects, and interactions is an essential part of the role, along with offering additional health services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management. Educating patients on the use of medical devices and compounding medications—both sterile and non-sterile—are critical duties. Supervisory responsibilities over pharmacy staff and maintaining pharmacy inventory are also expected. Strong collaboration with healthcare providers to address drug-related issues is important.

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist with a valid Pennsylvania pharmacy license
• Experience in long-term care or mail order pharmacy settings preferred
• Sterile compounding experience is a plus
• Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
