Medical Assistant

Job Description:

This position is an urgent need for a Certified Medical Assistant to provide clinical support procedures under the direct supervision of an Office Nurse or Physician. The role requires flexibility to work across multiple locations as needed. The Medical Assistant should exemplify professionalism through personal appearance and demeanor, showing care and enjoyment in interactions with patients. Emotional stability and discretion are essential, as this role involves confidential patient interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform blood draws, injections, child immunizations, lab tests, and other procedures relevant to the practice within the scope of MA certification.
• Assist physicians during examinations, which may include measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
• Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies.
• Handle patient phone calls as directed by the physician.
• Provide instructions to patients as per physician's directives.
• Requisition supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
• Support maintenance of medical records, including the completion of referral forms, lab slips, and other pertinent documentation as requested.
• Assist patients with mobility to and from exam rooms, and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
• Collaborate with the team and assist in other areas as instructed by the manager or clinical coordinator.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of current Medical Assistant experience.
• Previous experience in a travel role is highly preferred.
• Cardiology experience is highly preferred.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
