Together with our veterans and our partners, we honor the past, build on our strengths, and chart a course worthy of the next 80 years.What you will do!As ODVA’s Veteran Suicide Prevention Coordinator, you will lead ODVA’s statewide efforts to prevent suicide among service members, veterans, and their families using a trauma‑informed, data‑driven, and equity‑centered approach. The role advances ODVA initiatives by coordinating with federal, state, Tribal, county and local community partners to implement evidence‑based strategies across the full spectrum of suicide prevention and postvention.Position Responsibilities include:Build and strengthen partnerships with federal, state, and Tribal governments, non-profits, and other community organizations focused on reducing stigma, and improving access to suicide prevention resources.Coordinate statewide outreach, education, and behavioral health and suicide prevention messaging and campaign.Represent ODVA on national and state veteran suicide prevention committees.Serve as the co-lead, with the Oregon Health Authority on the Governor’s Challenge to Prevent Suicide Among Military Members, Veterans, and Their Families.Collect and analyze data and implement evidence-based strategies to improve program outcomes.Develop, evaluate, and enhance suicide prevention programs and services.Develop, administer and monitor statewide veteran suicide prevention grant programs.Track program performance, evaluate outcomes, and recommend continuous improvements.What’s in it for you!The opportunity to work with and learn from a great team that has a passion for serving veterans in a productive and creative environment where no two days are ever the same! If you are passionate about serving Oregon's veterans, apply today!This is a full-time position represented by a union.What are we looking for?Program Analyst 3 Minimum Qualifications:A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years’ experience coordinating or administering a programOR;Any combination of experience or education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.The most competitive candidates will demonstrate experience in one or more of the following requested skill areas:Behavioral health or mental health programsSuicide prevention or crisis intervention initiativesPublic health program development and community outreachWorking with service members, veterans and families (SMVF)’Building cross-sector partnerships and coalitionsGrant development, administration, and monitoringProgram management and evaluationUsing data and evidence-based practices to improve outcomesAdditional Requirements:This position requires successful completion of a fingerprint based criminal history background check through the Oregon (LEDS) and National (NCIC) law enforcement data systems. A valid Oregon or Washington State driver’s license is required; must also undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, with ongoing monitoring as a condition of continued employment.Working Conditions:ODVA believes in a diverse and inclusive work environment. This position may require some travel to ODVA offices and sites on an as-needed basis.
