Position Overview

The Nursing Educator has the responsibility for assisting the coordination of education with the planning, implementing and evaluating orientation, in-service and continuing education programs. Manages and supervises the staff activities and ensures staff competencies in the delivery of care. Acts as Primary Instructor for NATP and Paid Feeding Assistant Program. Covers Unit Assignment as Nurse Manager as applicable

When working in the capacity of a Clinical Nurse Manager, the Nurse Educator has the responsibility and accountability for the administration and coordination of patient /resident care on a 24-hour basis on the assigned neighborhoods (units). The Nurse Educator working in the capacity of a Clinical Nurse Manager is accountable and responsible for key performance indicators on their assigned units on a 24-hour basis, including pressure ulcers, falls, grievances, staff attendance, timeliness of call bell responses, maintain Facility Quality Measures, and perpetual Survey Preparedness. The Nurse Educator manages and supervises the staff activities and ensures staff competencies in the delivery of care. Collaborates with the Administrative Nurse Managers for evenings and nights, Resident Service Coordinators and other disciplines for all interdisciplinary activities

 

Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing Required. MSN from an accredited university preferred.

• Must possess a current NYS RN license

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a staff nurse

• A minimum of 1 year’s experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility or other related medical facility

• A minimum of 1 year’s experience supervising and implementing nursing education programs.

• As Primary Instructor for NATP, must have experience in teaching adults or supervising aides in the long-term care setting for a minimum of 1 year, or must have completed a course in teaching adults. 

• Knowledge of federal and state regulations. 

• Must be able to speak, write and read English.

• Strong clinical competencies, communications and writing skills and the ability to manage staff and resources required.

• PCC and electronic medical system experience preferred

Compensation:

• $125,000 min. - $130,000 max. Annually
