Network Automation Engineer

Description

We are seeking an engineering-focused infrastructure engineer to support New Product Introduction (NPI) of Enterprise systems. This role sits at the front edge of innovationbuilding the first deployments, navigating unknowns, and creating the tools, automation, and standards that enable platform teams to scale globally.

This is not a technician or runbook-following role. Engineers in this team design, prototype, automate, and standardize how new systems, clusters, and infrastructure are brought online for the first time. Once stabilized, these solutions are handed off to partner platform teams for scale.

This role designs and creates the tools that others use.

Mission

Enable engineering teams to build, validate, and ship next-generation products by:

Preparing infrastructure before systems arrive

Automating complex, repetitive deployment work

Designing cluster-level networking, observability, and health management

Creating tools and SOPs that turn weeks of work into minutes

Key Responsibilities

New Product Introduction & Infrastructure Readiness

Lead infrastructure bring-up for NPI enterprise products

Work directly with product and engineering teams to understand new hardware, software, and infrastructure requirements

Navigate ambiguity to define what tools, automation, and infrastructure changes are required

Prepare labs and data center environments to receive first-of-kind systems

Tooling, Automation & SOP Development

Design and build automation, scripts, and deployment tooling used by platform teams at scale

Reduce manual, repetitive deployment work (e.g., reducing multi-day installs to minutes)

Create clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system and cluster deployment

Develop golden paths and reusable infrastructure patterns

Cluster & Networking Engineering (Primary Growth Area)

Design and deploy cluster-level infrastructure, not just single nodes

Engineer networking topologies for clusters, pods, and superpods

Support cluster-level:

o Provisioning

o Manageability

o Health monitoring

o Triage and diagnostics

Partner with platform teams to ensure solutions scale without rework

Observability, Health & Availability

Build and integrate observability and monitoring stacks for infrastructure and clusters

Enable proactive health monitoring and faster triage

Ensure systems remain available and reliable for engineering workloads

Cross-Team Collaboration

Partner closely with Platform / Deployment teams (consumers of your tools)

Act as an engineering multiplierbuild once, enable many

Support the broader goal of accelerating product development and time-to-market

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Clara, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
