Job Title

Travel RN – Cardiac Step-Down (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care on a 40-bed cardiac step-down unit for patients with conditions including CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-procedural cardiac patients (cath/stent, pacer/ICD/ablation)
• Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and diuretics
• Operate and monitor unit equipment including Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, bladder scanners, and lift equipment
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Assist with or perform bedside cardioversion as indicated
• Float to MedSurg units, other step-down units, COVID unit, and ER holding as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (or compact license eligibility for North Carolina)
• Minimum 2 years of step-down or progressive care nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Demonstrated experience with titratable cardiac IV medications
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with prostacyclin therapies (e.g., Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
• Relief charge nurse experience
