Principal Software Engineer, Post Trade Tech

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal software engineering training or certification, along with 7+ years of applied experience.
• We look for hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We expect experience leading or building cross-functional teams of technologists.

• We seek expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• Preferred: strong programming experience in Core Java.
• Preferred: strong experience with C, C++, or C#.
• Preferred: deep knowledge of messaging and event-driven systems, including Kafka and MQ.
• Preferred: experience with FIX protocol and trading or investment banking integrations.
• Preferred: strong database experience, including MongoDB and Cassandra.
• Preferred: experience modernizing legacy data platforms, including Sybase migration.
• Preferred: strong understanding of performance tuning, scalability, concurrency, and resilient system design.

• We make decisions that affect team resources, budget, tactical operations, and process execution.
• We set direction and governance for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation within our technical area.
• We drive measurable gains in speed, quality, and operational outcomes through AI-orchestrated delivery workflows, release readiness controls, automated test modernization, and faster incident triage.
• We establish guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, traceability, and reuse across teams.
• We apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain capabilities, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools, to increase automation value and unlock capacity at scale.
• We maintain governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.
• We deliver technical solutions that can be reused across multiple businesses and domains.
• We influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
