Job Description

Make a difference working with high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 2026 through June 2027 and offers between 32 and 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. You’ll join a supportive school environment, delivering targeted instruction, fostering growth, and helping students succeed academically and socially.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for the assignment period.
Previous experience working with high school students or adolescents preferred.
Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and differentiation strategies.
Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Passion for advocating for students with diverse learning needs and abilities.

Responsibilities & Key Duties:

Develop and implement individualized educational plans based on student assessments and collaborative team input.
Modify curriculum and teaching approaches to accommodate each student’s needs.
Partner with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to deliver comprehensive support.
Track progress, maintain confidential student records, and document interventions and outcomes.
Communicate regularly with families to nurture relationships and keep them informed on student progress.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
Participate in professional development and school meetings as required.
