AR and AP Specialist

AR/AP Specialist – Nonprofit Organization We're seeking a dependable AR/AP Specialist to manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable for our nonprofit organization. This role is ideal for someone who values stability and wants to grow deep expertise in a finance function rather than climb the ladder into management right away. Our organization has a seasonal business cycle, with high transaction volume roughly six months of the year, so we're looking for someone who thrives with variable workloads and stays organized through busy stretches. You'll be a key point of contact for our vendors and customers, so a genuine commitment to good communication and relationship management matters just as much as technical accounting skill. What You\'ll Do Accounts Payable Process vendor invoices, matching to purchase orders and verifying coding/approvals Prepare payment runs (ACH, checks, wire transfers) and reconcile credit card statements Maintain vendor files (W-9s, insurance certificates) and resolve invoice discrepancies Accounts Receivable Prepare and distribute customer invoices; apply cash receipts to accounts Monitor outstanding receivables, follow up on overdue balances, and resolve billing discrepancies Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate records Purchasing & Customer Relations Assist with purchase orders, vendor selection, and quote comparisons Serve as primary finance contact for vendor and customer billing inquiries Support month-end close (AP/AR reconciliations, accruals, aging reports) and annual audits General Maintain organized electronic accounting records Identify process improvement opportunities Cross-train within the finance team; assist with special projects as assigned What We\'re Looking For 3+ years of AP and/or AR experience Solid understanding of debits and credits and general accounting principles Experience with ERP/accounting software and advanced Excel skills Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines with high attention to detail and confidentiality A collaborative, service-minded approach to working with vendors and internal teams Interest in a long-term role within our finance team Preferred (not required): Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Prior experience in a nonprofit setting Desired Skills Vendor and customer relationship management Problem solving and process improvement Time management and collaboration Additional Requirements As part of our hiring process, all candidates who receive an offer must pass a background check, credit check, and driving record review as conditions of employment. #J-18808-Ljbffr Headfarmer LLC
