JOB DESCRIPTION

Devon Gables Rehabilitation Center is now hiring a Unit Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals! Join our rewarding nursing care environment where your skills and compassion help make a real and lasting impact on the lives of our residents. We're looking for exceptional people to help us provide exceptional care. The Unit Assistant helps the nursing staff in meeting the needs of our residents. This is a part-time position from 3 pm to 9 pm. Must be available to work every other weekend.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Change linen on unoccupied beds.

• Clean/straighten the resident’s closets and drawers and place personal items in baggies.

• Transport residents to and from the dining room and activities.

• Pass meal trays and help serve in the dining room, open containers, and set up trays.

• Pass ice water, hydration, and snacks.

• Pass towels.

• Lead and assist with the activities that are scheduled on the unit.

• Respond to call lights. Notify a CNA or Charge Nurse if needed.

• Other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse (that does not involve direct patient care).

• Escort residents as needed.

• One-on-one visits / take attendance

• Must be able to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 25 lbs unassisted.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Have a genuine interest in health care and caring for people.

• Have the physical ability to complete job duties.
