As a Vocational Counselor, you’ll connect people with opportunities while building relationships with individuals, employers, and the local community.
What You’ll Do
- Identify clients’ strengths, interests, and career goals.
- Develop individualized employment plans and provide career guidance.
- Assist with resumes, applications, interview preparation, and job readiness.
- Provide job coaching and support during onboarding and employment.
- Build relationships with local employers and identify employment opportunities.
- Support workplace accommodations and assistive technology when needed.
- Provide ongoing support to promote workplace success and career growth.
- Maintain accurate client and service documentation.
What We’re Looking For
You qualify through one of the following pathways:
Required:
- A relevant work or life experience
supporting individuals with disabilities . - Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with current insurance.
- Willingness to travel throughout the service area.
- Ability to successfully complete required background and drug screenings.
Experience in the following is a plus:
- Vocational rehabilitation
- Employment services or job coaching
- Workforce development
- Human or disability services
- Case management
- Working with veterans or individuals with disabilities
