divh2Calista Corporation Regular/h2pThe Payroll Technician processes timesheets, payroll deductions, and new hire paperwork; pays State and Federal taxes, child support and garnishment deductions; and files confidential employee information./ph3Essential Functions/h3ulliManage Calistas electronic time collection system./liliCode paper timesheets./liliPay Federal and State payroll taxes./liliPay Child Support and other garnishments./liliProcess new hire payroll forms./liliProcess leave/vacation/sick accruals./liliPrint and mail pay stubs and paychecks./liliFile confidential documents./liliWork in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner./liliPerform other duties as assigned./li/ulh3Supervisory Responsibilities/h3pThis job does not have supervisory responsibilities./ph3Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/h3ulliBasic working knowledge and experience with payroll functions and laws./liliAdvanced Microsoft Excel Knowledge preferred./liliAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals./liliAbility to write routine reports and correspondence./liliAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization./liliAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals./liliAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs./liliAbility to type 45 words per minute with accuracy./liliKnowledge of database software, spreadsheet software and word processing software. Microsoft packages preferred./liliAbility to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment./liliMust be willing to take on-going educational courses to stay technically current./liliAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to learn and understand the Companys Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliAssociates degree in Accounting with one year of payroll experience; or,/liliMinimum of four years of payroll experience with basic college level accounting classes./liliExposure to government contracts preferred./liliDeltek Costpoint or other integrated software experience preferred./liliAbility to pass a drug, background, reference, and credit check./li/ulh3Working Environment/h3pThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
