Investigator Position

The Mississippi Board of Nursing is seeking an experienced investigator to conduct field and desk investigations related to possible violations of the Nursing Practice Law.

This position is responsible for gathering and reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses and subjects, preparing investigative summaries, issuing or serving subpoenas and notices as needed, and presenting findings for case review. The role may also require testimony at Board disciplinary hearings and coordination with regulatory, governmental, and law enforcement agencies.

To be successful in this role, the candidate should be detail-oriented, professional, and able to handle sensitive and confidential information with sound judgment. The ideal candidate should have strong interviewing, writing, analytical, and organizational skills, along with the ability to gather facts, document findings clearly, and communicate effectively with licensees, witnesses, attorneys, agency staff, and outside agencies. This position also requires flexibility, integrity, the ability to travel as needed, and a willingness to assist with hearings, legal support, and other investigative division responsibilities.
