Medical Device Assembler

Location: Irvine, CA – Onsite
Pay Rate: $19.75/hr
Schedule: 2nd Shift, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Overtime: Hours worked over 40 per week are paid at 1.5x

Job Summary

We are looking for a Medical Device Assembler to manufacture high-quality medical devices in a cleanroom environment . This role involves hands-on assembly, repair, and testing of medical device components, including catheters and related assemblies.

The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and comfort performing repetitive work with small components under a microscope.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, repair, and test medical device components and assemblies.
• Perform work according to standardized procedures and quality requirements.
• Handle and maneuver small parts under a microscope.
• Complete accurate written and electronic documentation for product traceability.
• Follow FDA, quality, and safety requirements.
• Communicate problems, ideas, and solutions clearly.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
• Perform repetitive tasks such as grabbing, pinching, pulling, and twisting.
• Stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
• Work closely with team members and supervisors; work will be reviewed regularly.

Preferred Experience

• Medical device assembly
• Manual assembly
• Working under a microscope for extended periods
• Hand soldering
• Cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments
• Written and electronic documentation

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work with very small components.
• Ability to use hand tools under a microscope.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand movements such as grabbing, pinching, pulling, and twisting.

Cleanroom Dress Code

Candidates must follow the required dress code during the interview/tour and while working in the production area.

Clothing

• Clothing must be clean, non-shedding, and free of loose threads or frayed edges .
• No tassels, fringe, glitter, sequins, or other loose materials.
• No sweaters, fleece, loose-knit, or loose-fiber clothing.
• Clothing must fit underneath the required lab coat/gown.
• Sleeves and high necks cannot extend beyond the gown.
• Avoid loose-fitting clothing around machinery or soldering equipment.
• Torso, upper arms, and legs must be covered.
• No sleeveless tops, cropped/short shirts, or pants above the ankle.
• Ankle-length skirts are allowed only with full-length stockings, leggings, or pants underneath.

Shoes

• Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes are required.
• Shoes cannot have heels higher than 2 inches.
• No sandals, clogs, slippers, open-toe, or open-heel shoes.
• Shoes cannot have straps or openings that expose the toes.
• Socks or stockings are required.

Hair & Head Coverings

• No caps, hats, scarves, or bandanas under the required bouffant.
• Head wraps may be worn for religious or cultural purposes but must be fully covered by the bouffant and gown.

Nails & Jewelry

• No nail polish, acrylic nails, artificial nails, or similar nail coatings.
• Jewelry or piercings that could damage gloves or cannot be covered by gowning materials are not allowed.

Personal Products

• No makeup in the production area.
• No scented personal products, except deodorant.
• Lip balm in stick form is allowed if applied before entering production areas.
• Lotions cannot be applied after hand washing.

General Requirements

• Keep clothing and shoes clean and free of visible dirt, mud, sand, lint, or other contamination.
• Cover any open or bleeding wound with a bandage.
• Nothing worn should be offensive or create a safety/cleanroom concern.
• Shoes may only be changed in the designated gowning area.
