Recruitment Analyst

Position Overview Under the direction of the Supervisor II, the Recruitment Analyst independently performs complex personnel-rated analytical work related to classification, compensation, recruitment, and examinations in the Human Resources Unit. The analyst works closely with all levels of CalVCB management, serves as a liaison with appropriate control agencies, and provides advice and consultation to program managers, supervisors, and employees on a wide variety of personnel issues. Responsibilities Independently perform complex personnel-rated analytical work related to classification, compensation, recruitment, and examinations. Collaborate with all levels of CalVCB management. Serve as a liaison with appropriate control agencies. Provide advice and consultation on personnel issues for program managers, supervisors, and employees. Qualifications Minimum qualifications are detailed in the Class Specification for ANALYST II. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed in the Classification Specification(s). Desirable Qualifications Experience in classification & pay, including recruitments, classification specifications, out-of-class assignments, training and development, limited-term appointments, and reorganizations. Experience in examinations and evaluating minimum qualifications of proposed candidates by analyzing and reviewing applications, exam scores, education, and prior job experiences. Analytical experience, including independently conducting, reviewing, and analyzing research, developing and maintaining logs and spreadsheets, and making verbal and written recommendations to management. Experience interpreting civil service laws, rules, policies, and procedures such as CalHR and SPB. Strong technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, Teams), Adobe Acrobat, and other technology systems and platforms.
