Headquartered in Austin, TX, DFS has a significant technology development and manufacturing presence worldwide, including facilities in Brazil, China, India, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.Primary Responsibilities:Reading and interpreting blue prints and product specificationsUsing Hand Tools and measuring devices to perform basic tasksUsing power tools and welding equipment to perform complex tasksWorking within teams or independently as directedComplete required assembly activities for an assigned cell while consistently maintaining product quality and safe work practicesMeet and maintain daily production rates & goals as established and required by the companyRead and follow standard work instructions.Keep Supervisor / Group Lead/Manufacturing Technicians informed of cell activity including but not limited to information related to quality, personal, parts supply, and safety issues that may occur within the scope of responsibilityComplete all required cell activities and documentation for assigned work cell as requested by supervisor.Attend all required trainingAssure a quality focus is maintained at all timesAddress all quality and safety concerns via the appropriate channel for an assigned cellParticipate in all required continuous improvement activities as requested or required by the companyUtilize Lean concepts and provided tool tools in order to improve the production processAssure work environment is clean, orderly and free of safety hazards at all timesActively participate in all department projects, tasks, and objectives including but not limited to continuous improvement activitiesMaintain the highest ethical standards as well as absolute personal and intellectual integrity, mature judgment, and innate cooperative nature.Other activities as needed and requestedMust be able to use all required tools in an assigned work areaPosition Requirements:Ability to read and interpret blueprints and product specificationsWorking knowledge of hand tools, power tools and welding/fabrication equipmentMust be able to read and follow blueprints, drawings and schematics1-3 years' experience specializing in fabrication and/or welding (MIG, TIG and Stick welding processes, cutting torch, plasma cutting, etc.)Adhere to all required company policiesAbility to work all scheduled and adjusted times, and or work overtime to accommodate productionAbility to effectively train associates and manage required documentationWilling and able to wear all required personal protective equipmentStanding for long periods of timeBend/stoop, climb, reach above shoulder, kneel and squat occasionallyBe able to lift up to 50 lbs. manually on a repetitive basisThis position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
