Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team and play an important role in maintaining strong financial operations while supporting the continued growth and success of the company.The Accounting Manager is an exempt position responsible for assisting the Controller in planning and overseeing execution of the Accounting Department’s functions and operations. This position helps ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, supports accounting processes and internal controls, and provides leadership and support to the Accounting Department while assisting the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations.Supervisory Responsibilities:Assists in overseeing Accounting Department staff in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, data analysis, and project accounting.Assists in identifying Accounting Department staff training needs and oversight of their training.Monitors staff workload and adjusts priorities as needed.Duties/Responsibilities:Works closely with the Controller to ensure Accounting Department is contributing to the overall financial goals of the company.Assists in maintaining the documented system of accounting policies and procedures; assists in implementation of system(s) of control over accounting transactions to minimize risk.Assists in the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.Assists with the annual budget and forecasting processes; reports significant budget differences to management.Works with external accountants and auditors and provides needed information for monthly agreed upon procedures.Assists in monitoring and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:Must be a self-starter and learn quickly.Attention to detail.Excellent supervisory and people management skills and abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Proficient with accounting software. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.Minimum 5 years experience in accounting experience.Experience must include data and variance analysis for financial/accounting transactions.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment.
