Human Resources Manager

Job Location Corporate - Portland, Portland, OR 97210 We are looking for an HR Manager to support our Human Resources department. You will act as the first point of contact for HR‑related queries from employees and management. Your main duties include ensuring an engaging working environment and promoting our Corporate Culture, maintaining internal databases, and administering government reporting. This is an “active” position: you will oversee the HR team and perform team duties when needed. Main Functions Oversee the hiring process, including job postings, background check processing, orientation, and onboarding. Lead compliance and processing of employee disciplinary issues, investigations, employee concerns, and complaints. Ensure compliance with internal policies and labor laws, including FMLA, PFML, HIPAA, and EEOC across multiple states. Document and maintain government reporting, including annual affirmative action plans and EEOC reporting. Work with the HSE and Leave Specialist on worker’s compensation administration, tracking, and file maintenance. Develop, implement, and maintain company policies and procedures. Collect and analyze HR data and recommend updates or changes to leadership. Prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policies. Be familiar with standard HR concepts, practices, and procedures. Oversee open enrollment meetings and quarterly insurance broker meetings. Support the HR team during PTO or leave. Learn, maintain, and operate all processes associated with the position, including paperwork and scheduling. Maintain a team environment with other employees and departments. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Travel Less than 20%. Education and Experience Requirements 3-5 years of human resource management experience; bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience may be considered. SPHR or PHR preferred. HRIS experience—Paycom helpful. MS Office proficiency: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Positive attitude, team player, friendly, and approachable. Ability to build morale and increase retention. Strong organizational skills and creative problem‑solving. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Familiarity with local, state, and federal employment laws. Must be able to perform a wide variety of tasks with creativity and latitude. Working Conditions Majority of work conducted in an office environment; may require driving in inclement weather. Work schedule may vary and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays due to special events, inclement weather, and other projects. Physical Requirements Work performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking. May lift, bend, stoop, pick up and move objects up to 25 lbs. Requires effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing. Requires activity around moving machinery and exposure to temperature changes, humidity, dust, fumes, and gases.
