Payroll & Benefits Coordinator (Temporary, Part-Time) — Hybrid — Milwaukie, OR Duration: Temporary (6 months) CV Resources is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization to hire a Payroll, Benefits & Administrative Specialist on a part-time basis (20-30 hours/week) to support their team. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with standalone payroll and benefits administration experience, as well as a basic accounting background. The organization has 400 employees, and this position will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while assisting with benefits administration and general administrative tasks, as well as supporting a payroll migration to a new platform. Responsibilities Process payroll for 400 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, terminations, and annual open enrollment Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with payroll journal entries Serve as the point of contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries, resolving issues promptly Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll and benefits operations Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements Assist with HR and administrative support tasks as needed Qualifications 3 years of standalone payroll and/or accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred) Strong knowledge of payroll systems (paylocity preferred) and payroll tax regulations Experience administering employee benefits programs Basic accounting knowledge, including payroll reconciliations and journal entries Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Excellent communication and problem-solving skills This is a great opportunity to join a respected nonprofit organization and contribute to a highly collaborative team.
