Full-Time Cook

High Point Residence Fox Valley
Aurora, Illinois

Schedule: Mostly daytime hours; some evenings may be required. Every other weekend availability is required.

High Point Residence Fox Valley is seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals that meet residents' dietary needs while creating an enjoyable dining experience. You will work closely with the dietary team to ensure meals are prepared according to menus, recipes, and food safety standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare, assisted living, or senior living environment
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience working with seniors or individuals with specialized dietary needs
• Experience with menu planning and inventory management
• ServSafe Certification (preferred)

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary requirements
• Ensure meals are served with consistency, quality, and proper portion control
• Collaborate with the dietary team to support menu planning and meal preparation schedules
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in accordance with food safety regulations
• Properly store, label, and rotate food items to ensure freshness and compliance
• Monitor kitchen supplies and assist with inventory management and ordering
• Follow all infection control, sanitation, and safety procedures
• Assist with special events, holiday meals, and other dining services as needed

• Excellent cooking skills with strong attention to detail
• Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional service to residents
