Key Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional, teacher’s aide, or in a related school support role preferred
- Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents in an educational setting
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
- Familiarity with classroom procedures, individualized education plans (IEPs), and instructional strategies a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent (some districts may require additional paraprofessional certification or credits)
- Compassion, reliability, and a commitment to supporting students' unique learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students under the supervision of classroom teachers or specialists
- Assist in the delivery of instructional activities, adapting materials and strategies as needed
- Support students during individual and group work, ensuring understanding and engagement
- Monitor behavioral, academic, and social progress, reporting observations to teachers and staff
- Help manage classroom organization, including prepping materials and supervising transitions between activities
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning climate
