Location: South Chesterfield, VA

We are looking for an Accountant who will be responsible for supporting our Dover Food Retail accounting functions performing a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions. This position will require a significant focus on cost accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting. In addition, analyzing cost records and expenditures for accuracy. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting key activities that relate to month, quarterly, year-end closing, account reconciliations and auditing.

What you will be responsible for in this role:

• Track and report on capital expenditures.
• Assist in the analysis and validation of our financial results.
• Support AR and AP accounting functions.
• Investigate and resolve accounting issues when they arise.
• Assist in the maintenance of the Company's standard costing system as needed.
• Collaborate/Engage with other cross-functional teams.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations ensuring accuracy in reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Performs other duties and prepare various ad hoc reports as assigned or needed.

What are the basic qualifications?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 2 years of general ledger accounting or public accounting audit experience.

What are the preferred qualifications?

• Oracle experience preferred.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing environment preferred.

• Possess a good understanding of US GAA.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex problems with multiple variables.
• Must be an experienced user of Microsoft Office software, budgeting, financial reporting and general ledger software, also be willing and capable of learning new systems and tools.
• Extended work hours are required depending on activity, especially during month, quarter and year-end financial closing.
• Demonstrates sound analytical depth and technical capability in finance and/or accounting methods, with the ability to multi-task and take ownership on tasks through completion.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
• Advanced computer skills in Power Query, Power BI, Access, Oracle, or SQL a plus.
