- Supervise the repair process in the workshop.
- Ensure accurate repair order write up.
- Supervise technicians.
- Mentor technicians.
- Lead technicians to fix cars right the first time, following approved repair procedures. Maintain repeat repair documentation.
- Responsible for the quality of repairs in the service workshop.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness, organization, and uniform appearance for the entire workshop.
- Responsible for the efficiency and productivity of the technicians.
- Participate in the technician hiring decisions, termination and other HR issues.
- Ensure that all technicians adhere to company policies.
- Determine the training needs of the techncians and inform management of these needs.
- Assure that flat rate time assignments are true and accurate.
- Ensure all technicians adhere to their work schedule, including days off, start time, lunch and finish time.
- Inform management of any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its asscoaites, or its customers.
- Responsible for the implementation of best practices in the workshop:
- Dispatch
- Quality Control of the work performed
- Management of repeat repairs
- Technician technical training
- Special tool management
- Quick access to technical information, tools and equipment
- Ensuring that the correct approved repair methods are utilized throughout the workshop.
- Responsible for having the parts department order the correct parts on the vehicle that is being worked on, If it was the technicians fault that a part was ordered wrong, then the technician will be charged the price of the part up to $50.00
